This month’s Play by Sephora theme is The Cool Cut

Uncover breakthrough formulas, indie finds and products that truly stand out from the crowd . Before they hit the mainstream, try-out routine-changing skincare and hair innovations and other of-the-moment must-haves.

Here’s what came in my box:

Farmacy Skin Dew Hydrating Essence Mist  & Setting Spray

Invigorating facial mist is just the thing to freshen or set makeup, add moisture, and soothe skin

I wasn’t a huge fan of this spray. I would like to find a way to make it work because I love facial sprays.

[Update] I’ve been using it as a “face mask primer” and it’s pretty nice.

Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Scent & Shine Coconut Oil

Silicone-free, multitasking oil from premium coconuts nurtures hair and stays liquid in cool temperatures.

I’m not a huge fan for hair oils and I rarely use them. This was nice but it will be passed on to someone who will get more use out of it.

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboss Glycolic Night Serum

Refreshing, non-irritating nighttime serum gently resurfaces dull and congested skin to reveal an even, radiant complexion.

I love this chemical exfoliator. It’s really gets deep into my pores. It’s a strong chemical exfoliator so be patient with it. Try it once a week and slowly increase. If you use it too often, you can get chemical burns.

The Estee Edit Flash Photo Gloss

Innovative, high-shine gloss with cool blue undertones that make teeth appear brighter-it’s the ultimate must-have for selfies!

I don’t like this gloss. It’s sticky and thick and doesn’t really do anything. I also think the clear packaging is very unattractive because

Smashbox Always on Matte Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat

Matte liquid lipstick keeps going for eight hours with a water-resistant non-feathering formula.

I’ve gone back and forth on this product. One minute I don’t like it the next I do. If you have dry peeling lips, you won’t like this liquid lipstick. If I’ve been keeping up with exfoliating and moisturizing my lips, these liquid lipsticks are actually quite nice but not when my lips are dry.

Fragrance Pick: Derek Lam 10 Crosby Silent St.

Pure and simple, this soft blend of white musks and subtle florals evokes a calm moment amid the chaos of NYC.

Notes: White Musks. Style: Pure. Whimsical. Calm

I normally don’t review fragrances because they are personal preference but I was pleasantly surprised by the perfume. It was super unique. I’m definitely putting this on my Wishlist!
